Automated water monitoring uses smart meters — like the Bove Technology ultrasonic meters — installed at each consumption point. These meters continuously measure flow and transmit readings wirelessly — via GSM or Sigfox depending on the application and available coverage — to the dTect Gateway Pro. The gateway aggregates all data and makes it available automatically through a web portal. No manual meter reading is required. You can view usage per unit, spot anomalies such as leaks, and compare readings against bulk supply bills to verify accuracy.

The dTect Gateway Pro connects to Eastron electrical sub-meters installed on each tenant's supply line. It reads kWh data continuously and presents it through an online dashboard. Property managers can view current and historical usage per unit, set consumption thresholds, receive alerts when thresholds are exceeded, and remotely switch off power where appropriate. The system also facilitates automated invoicing, eliminating the need for manual reads and reducing billing disputes.

Smart meters and the gateway are designed with data buffering capabilities that store readings locally during communication outages. Once connectivity is restored, all buffered data is synchronised. The LIFE Lift Intercom operates on GSM cellular networks and typically includes battery backup, ensuring emergency communication remains active even when mains power fails — a critical safety requirement for lift installations.

Bove Technology's ultrasonic water meters have no moving parts, which means no mechanical wear and exceptional long-term accuracy. Eastron electrical meters such as the SDM630 series provide multi-channel, Class 1 or Class 0.5 accuracy measurement. Both meter types are MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) compliant where applicable and are built for the utility sub-metering environments where accuracy directly impacts revenue recovery.

LIFE is a GSM-based emergency intercom solution designed specifically for lifts. It enables trapped or distressed occupants to make an emergency call directly from the lift cab to a designated response number — without requiring a traditional telephone landline. The unit uses a standard SIM card on any GSM cellular network, making it easy to install in new or existing lifts regardless of the building's telephony infrastructure.

Yes. South African law (SANS 1545 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act) requires that all passenger lifts be equipped with an emergency communication device. The LIFE intercom fulfils this requirement using GSM technology. It provides the mandatory two-way voice communication from the lift cab to an external point, satisfying regulatory inspectors and ensuring your building remains compliant during annual lift inspections.

Installation is straightforward. The GSM unit is mounted in the lift control cabinet or within the cab, connected to the emergency call button and speaker. A SIM card from any local network operator is inserted, and the destination phone number(s) are programmed via SMS or a configuration interface.
